it's been a long time since citygirrrl last posted; things have been very busy and strangely without conclusion.
spacemonkey and i bought our very beautiful house in late october. it's really lovely, and whilst there are some things we need to do to make the place our own, we've settled in very nicely. lots of time has been spent choosing our furniture and fittings - it's all been good fun although i don't know how fun it will be when we have to start paying it all off...
i'm especially enamoured of the curtains - gorgeous taffeta ones, very decadent; mulberry for the living room and chocolate/gold in the bedroom. and we have a sofa on order (chocolate leather corner suite with built in recliners so that we can both stretch out) although until it arrives in january we're working on a chairs-and-cardboard-boxes decor theme.
of course, it hasn't all been plain sailing; for some reason the bedroom is inexplicably dusty - causing all sorts of havoc for my litany of allergies. and the washing machine died while we were at work causing a wet-footed surprise when we got in last week.
speaking of work... citygirrrl is still in the throes of arranging an internal transfer to work up north. things are still very much up in the air, which means that i haven't been able to move in properly and am splitting my time working/living between london and the north.
the latest update is that i have an interview scheduled for this thursday, so i've been spending a lot of time preparing, researching and generally shitting bricks. it's an exciting job and a promotion, so the application process is going to be a big challenge.
