barking at the seals

you will be surprised and impressed to learn that - for the first time ever - citygirrrl managed a birthday party and a night on the piss without tossing her cookies later.  many thanks to all who came along - i had a fantastic night and it was wonderful to catch up with all of my friends!

spacemonkey allowed me to wear my very gorgeous birthday present (a fabulously blingy necklace) even though it isn't my real birthday until sunday and i felt like a princess.  princess margaret, in fact, because i got plastered on gin cocktails and felt like death this morning...

hello ralph, hello hughie, hello thirty

citygirrrl will soon be hitting the big 3-0 and will be celebrating with a party in soho.

so...  little black dress (or, possibly, hot pants) - check...  ceramic curling tongs - check...  kilo of makeup and lip gloss - check.

one thing missing though: an iron stomach.  does anyone have one?  those who know me will know that - to quote citybro - my stomach is "less stable than the argentinian economy".  i'll call up ralph & hughie on the big white telephone at the slightest provocation - and never more impressively than when i've been on the piss.

i'm hoping to approach things with a little more dignity this year (dignity?  in hot pants?).  maybe turning 30 heralds a new era of drinking maturity - a couple of fun cocktails, no chugging, no beer, and hopefully an evening of partying without any bushusuru*...

*bushusuru - japanese term literally meaning "bushing it", to describe embarrassing oneself by an act of public vomiting; after bush snr's spectacular chunder in the japanese PM's lap.

the eye-sticky-thing is clearing up, so i will be able to wear makeup.  this is especially good news as an acne flare-up means that i presently look as though instead of using the tube to get about, i should be travelling around london on the back of a red moped, in a box labelled "pepperoni extra hot"...
